The lecture Environmental Microbiology teaches basic knowledge of microbial processes in the environment. A special focus is on the microbial degradation of organic pollutants in aquatic systems. Biochemical principles are presented in an environmental context. Furthermore, molecular methods for analysing microbial communities are introduced.
