Optical Communications Technology

Optical communications technology is an elective course within the ISE study program. It includes the teaching of fundamentals on the topics

  • propagation of electromagnetic waves,
  • scattering, attenuation and dispersion,
  • optical waves in film waveguides and optical fibers,
  • signal distortion in optical fibers,
  • optical point-to-point links.

To enroll in the Moodle course, you must first register online via the university's LSF portal. 

  1. Open the LSF portal in your browser.

  2. Choose "Dates/Times/Location"

  3. Chose "apply now / cancel application"

  4. Log in with your university user ID and password.

  5. Follow the instructions on the screen

  6. At the beginning of the lecture period, the enrollment data from LSF will be used to enroll you in the course room via the Moodle function "Mass Enrollment". For this to work, you must have registered with  Moodle at https://lehre.moodle.uni-due.de/login/index.php with your UDE ID and password.

  7. If you have registered in LSF later, please send an e-mail from your university account to Dr. Buß asking for enrollment in the Moodle course with ID 6562.
