This introductory course focuses on discussing efficient techniques to visually represent large-scale data sets from simulation and measurement. Starting with a brief introduction on the data generation processes, the visualization pipeline, data structures, mapping techniques, and special rendering techniques for scientific data will be discussed. Various examples will outline the benefits of visualization techniques in practical applications. A particular focus is put on interactive methods using GPU-based techniques. Topics include:

Major aims of the course:
· Overview of routine and state-of-the-art oxidative processes used in water and wastewater treatment
· Advanced understanding of fundamental transformation processes involved in technical processes
· Evaluation of advantages and drawbacks of oxidative processes for exemplary applications
· Development of criteria for the selection of appropriate technological solutions
Part of the course tutorials will also be an introduction to reviewing scientific publications that students will practice on and present in the second half of the term.
